A few days before your appointment, you'll receive an email and text message asking you to confirm or reschedule. Within this email, there will be some questions about Covid-19, and this confirmation will also serve as your Covid consent form.
We'll also send you a text message reminder 48 hours before your appointment.

ONCE YOU'VE ARRIVED
We are located off of Lake Murray Blvd. in Irmo. Our salon is in a large brick building on Oak Park Drive behind Arby's. There should be plenty of parking in the lot next to the building.
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early so that you can complete a New Guest Form, we can get you set up with a beverage, and so that you can get changed into a robe.
We will start your visit with an in-depth consultation where we'll discuss your hair goals, your desired maintenance schedule, set you up with a product plan that will sustain your look, and make sure everything we've talked about matches your budget and your lifestyle.

get to know us...
When our owner, Meagan was in cosmetology school, she began doing hair and makeup for photoshoots and weddings. When she was fresh out of school in 2010, she decided to make this endeavor a real business, and The Velvet Edge was born.
For years Meagan practiced her skills on-location. She loved the print and wedding field but knew she wanted a salon- a place where beauty was the star of the show, and where women could connect on an emotional level.
In May 2014, The Velvet Edge became a full salon. The focus was on everything beauty- cuts, colors, texturizing services, makeup, bridal, blonding.
The salon was small with three chairs. The team quickly outgrew the space, and less than a year later, expanded and became a team of eight. In 2017, we moved into the location we are at today. We have since expanded a third time, with another extension in this very building.
Since our beginning over 10 years ago, we have learned a lot. We have honed our skills and narrowed our focus so that we can be great in the areas we are truly passionate about.
