Stylist & Technical Education Specialist
I grew up in a tiny town called Norway, about an hour south of Columbia. I am one of five children, two boys, and three girls, and I am right in the middle. We were all raised on a farm with small livestock like chickens and bunnies. Our community was small but tight-knit. As a child, I always dreamed of something bigger, and I wanted to live in a big city. But, as an adult, I’ve grown to appreciate the peacefulness of a close-knit community. I met my husband when I was seventeen. We live now with our baby Jace and our fur babies in the small town of Springfield, not far from Norway.
I attended cosmetology school at my high school. It was so small of a program that I was the first- and only since 2014, to graduate from the vocational program. Ever since starting cosmetology, I’ve always felt empowered by education. I’ve known since the beginning that I wanted to be an educator one day.
My favorite part of being a hairstylist is the opportunity to meet and interact with all kinds of people. I love being able to give my clients an amazing experience not just with their hair, but also with their time in the chair. But, I truly thrive when I’m helping other stylists through education.
When I’m not working, I love to be outside. A perfect day date with my husband is being on a boat, pulled up to a sandbar on the lake, laying in the sunshine. We love to take Jace to the zoo. His favorite animal is the tiger. He gets so excited when he hears the roar!
On a rainy day or when we’re hanging inside, I love to cook. I make an amazing pot roast, and crockpot meals are my go-to. I’m still working on perfecting my chicken and waffles. My husband doesn’t mind being the taste tester for any of the recipes I’m working on.
I'm happy I was able to share a little bit about myself, and I look forward to meeting you!
